Dragoș Mădăraș won the Prequalification Tournament and will receive the second Wild-Card in the “Concord Iași Open 2020” Qualifications
More than 20 Romanian players got started in Iași, on the fields of Coreco, at the pre-qualification Tournament for "Concord Iași Open 2020", for a worthy prize: the champion received a Wild-Card in the Qualifications of the ATP Challenger 100 tournament. After a final won in only two sets, but very disputed, Dragoș Mădăraș ended in force a very good tournament in which he did not lose any set. It was 6-4, 7-6 (2), in the meeting with Nicolae Frunză, the favorite no. 2 of the tournament, and, thus, we have the name of the second Romanian player who will have a Wild-Card for the Qualifications scheduled to start on Saturday, September 12, on the grounds of the Ciric Sports Base in Iași.
We remind you that the first wild-Card in the "Concord Iași Open" Qualifications was awarded to Mihai Radu Papoe, the one who won the U18 National Individual Summer Championships, held in Iași, at the Ciric Sports Base, also with the involvement of Concord Service Center.
"Concord Iași Open 2020" is an ATP Challenger 100 tournament from the Professional Men's Tennis Circuit, endowed with total prizes worth 88,520 euros. This is the biggest tennis tournament in Romania and one of the biggest tennis tournaments in Europe during this period. We remind you that the organizers have decided that the three wild-cards on the main draw will be awarded to the best Romanian juniors of the moment, Filip Jianu, Nicholas Ionel and Cezar Cretu, the main purpose of this tournament being, in the short term, that of helping young Romanian tennis players to win at home the precious ATP points, and in the long run, to contribute to the emergence of new generations of high value Romanian tennis players.
