On Saturday evening, the draw for the main draw took place at the ATP Challenger 100 Concord Iași Open – Powered by MET tournament. The event was coordinated by the ATP supervisor Jiri Adamovsky, who was assisted by the tournament director Andrei Pavel, the player Matei Onofrei and Andrei Orita, the holder of the Iași Open licenses.
Romania will have four representatives on the main draw. The only directly accepted on the board, Filip Jianu, will meet a player from the qualifications in the first round, and the other three, Nicholas David Ionel, Cezar Crețu and Gabi Boitan, wild-card holders, will have difficult missions.
Gabi Boitan will meet the American Nicolas Moreno De Alboran, 5th favorite, 146th ATP place, Cezar Crețu from Iasi will play with the Argentinean Roman Andres Burruchaga, 4th favorite (world number 142), while Nicholas David Ionel will face the Spaniard Javier Barranco Cosano (254 ATP).
The main favorite, the Argentine Camilo Ugo Carabelli (100 ATP), will play in the first round with the Czech Jiri Vesely (237 ATP).
In the qualifications, Romania will have no less than 15 representatives: Bogdan Pavel, Ștefan Paloși, Vlad Andrei Dancu, Mihai Alexandru Coman, Filip Gabriel Bara, Matei Onofrei, Eduard Silviu Schipor, Dan Alexandru Tomescu, Alejandro Mateo Berge Nourescu, Mihai Răzvan Marinescu , Sebastian Gima, Daniel Uta, Tudor Stefan Gheorghiță, Radu Mihai Papoe and Radu David Țurcanu.
Day and evening sessions at the Concord Iasi Open tournament
On Sunday, July 7, the decisive matches from the qualifications are scheduled, and on Monday, July 8, at 10:00, the games on the main draw begin.
Each day there will be two sessions, daytime (10:00 a.m. - Monday, 12:00 p.m. - Tuesday to Friday) and evening (not before 4:30 p.m. - Monday to Friday).
On Saturday, July 13, the singles and doubles semifinals are scheduled, starting at 11:00 a.m., and on Sunday, July 14, the two finals will take place, the doubles at 11:00 a.m. and the singles not before 1:00 p.m.
The tournament is provided with 100 ATP points and has total prizes worth 120,950 euros. The director of the Iași tournament is Andrei Pavel, and the holder of the "Iași Open" license is Andrei Orita.
After the men's tournament, between July 21-26, the WTA 250 "UniCredit Iași Open" will be held in Iași, the competition director being Daniel Dobre.
