On Saturday, from 4 PM, live on TVR 3 and TVR Iași, the first final of the biggest tennis tournament in Romania, “Concord Iași Open” will take place.

In the last match of the doubles tournament, the favorites who will meet are: no. 2, the Filipino Treat Huey and the American Nathaniel Lammons and the Brazilians Rafael Matos and Joao Menezes, who, in the semifinals, beat the Americans Alex Lawson / Hunter Reese 6-4, 5-7, 15-13, respectively the American-Mexican pair Robert Galloway / Hans Hach Verdugo with 6-4, 6-3.

The "square of aces" in the singles event consists of three Spaniards and a Frenchman, three of the players being favorites.
Thus, Friday started with a big surprise, one of the favorites, the Austrian Yuri Rodionov, head of series no. 4, being eliminated. Hard match for the Spaniard Jaume Munar, the second favorite of the tournament, who needed two sets with extra time in front of the Brazilian Joao Menezes.
Jaume Munar (ESP) (2) - Joao Menezes (BRA) (7) 7-5, 7-6 (2) and Mathias Bourgue (FRA) - Jurij Rodionov (AUT) (4) 6-2, 6-3, are the results recorded in the first two games of the day, followed shortly by the other two quarterfinals of the day in which, on the field, three Spaniards and one Brazilian entered.
No surprise, this time, the favorites managed to impose themselves, but not without a fight. Pablo Andujar, no. 1 at the “Concord Iași Open” 2020, faced the Brazilian Felipe Meligeni Rodrigue, whom he beat 6-1, 6-7 (5) 6-2, while the favorite no. 5, another Spaniard, Carlos Taberner, won 1-6, 6-0, 6-1, in front of compatriot Adrian Menendez-Maceiras.

So, the “square of aces” from the “Concord Iași Open” 2020 is complete: Pablo Andujar, Jaume Munar, Carlos Taberner and Mathias Bourgue.
On Saturday, at 12 PM, at the same time, the two semifinals will be played, followed, at 4 PM, by the doubles final, according to the schedule below.
It should be appreciated that the singles semifinal between the favorite no. 1, the Spaniard Pablo Andujar, and the Frenchman Mathias Bourgue, will be broadcast live on TVR Iași, while the doubles final, from 4 PM, will be able to be seen live on both TVR Iași and TVR 3.
